Maruti S-Cross, Toyota Innova & Mahindra Bolero are India’s best quality cars: JD Power

Leading consumer insights, advisory services, data and analytics solutions company JD Power has released its 2018 India Initial Quality Study. The survey focuses on the initial quality of cars and the feedback is taken directly from buyers. All problems are summarized as the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), with lower PP100 scores indicating a lower incidence of problems, therefore, higher initial quality. Also, overall initial quality averages 81 PP100 in 2018, of which 24% of the reported problems are related to the engine/ transmission category while 17% of them are related to both the vehicle exterior and driving experience categories.

We have compiled a list based on the survey which lists the top two cars of each segment which have the least number of initial quality problems. Initial Quality problems here refers to the problems faced by the owners during the initial part of their ownership. Lower the PP100 (problems per 100 vehicles) score, better the car has fared in the survey.
