India’s second largest car manufacturer Hyundai, earlier last year had launched Grand i10 Nios in the country. It offers a bit more premium features and is placed above the older Grand i10. The Grand i10 Nios competes with cars like Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo in the segment. Hyundai has now introduced the Nios hatchback with a CNG fuel option some time back. Here we have a video that shows a walk around video of the CNG version of the all-new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
The video has been uploaded by Car Duniya on their yotube channel. The video starts by showing the Grand i10 Nios hatchabck parked at a dealership. The video shows the exterior of the car with the same smoked projector type headlamp, boomerang shaped DRLs and the wide grille at the front. The only difference at the front as pointed out in the video is the CNG sticker on the windshield. The side profile of the car also remains the same with grey coloured sporty looking alloy wheels and blacked out C-Pillar. At the rear, Grand i10 Nios remains unchanged with sporty looking bumper, Nios badging on the boot with a chrome strip running at the bottom of the boot. Here also we see a CNG sticker on the windshield.
The Grand i10 NIOS is available with a factory fitted CNG kit only in the sportz and the Magna trims. What this means is that the buyers will be getting most of the features that the regular petrol or diesel engined NIOS offers currently. Video then shows the CNG cylinder that has now occupied most of the space in the boot. The spare wheel can only be taken out after folding the rear passenger seat. The CNG refuelling nozzle is placed next to the petrol filler cap.
The video then goes ahead and opens up the hood to show the pressure gauge, reducer, injectors and other components of the kit. It also shows the converter switch and the MID display in the instrument cluster which now shows the level of CNG left in the car. Price for Hyundai Grand 10 Nio Magna CNG is Rs 6.62 lakh, ex-showroom and the Sportz trim with CNG would cost around Rs 7.16 lakh, ex-showroom. As diesel cars get pricier thanks to the onset of BS6 norms, CNG is likely to be an option many car buyers in India are likely to opt for.
