MG Motor made their debut in the Indian market last year with Hector SUV. It quickly became popular among customers and the car even had a long waiting period for quite some time. The main reason behind its popularity was the premium looks, feature loaded cabin and an aggressive price tag. MG also launched an EV based on their ZS SUV and is also available in the market. The brand is now preparing to launch their third product which is a 6-seater version of the regular Hector SUV known as Hector Plus. Ahead of its launch, MG has released three videos that shows some of the features of Hector Plus.
The first video is about the seats. Hector Plus is a six seater SUV which means it gets captain seats for the second row passenger. MG had said that they’ll be bringing a 7-seater version at a later point of time but, for now it will only be available with a 6 seat configuration. The tan colour leather on those captain seats actually gives it a premium look. By now most of us know that captain seats are much more comfortable than regular bench seats and this is something which will be available in the Hector Plus.

The second feature shown in the video is a very premium feature that we normally get to see on some high end cars. It is the Smart Swipe feature. Using this feature a user can open the boot on MG Hector Plus by simply swiping under it. This feature comes in handy whenever your hands are not free and want to put something in the boot. MG Hector Plus is also the only car in the segment to boast of this feature.
Third video is about the most talked about feature of the SUV, which is now much more updated in the Hector Plus. It is the huge touchscreen infotainment screen that supports voice commands. MG has updated the screen and has also added couple of more chit-chat features as seen in the video. This makes it a bit more interactive to the driver or passenger sitting inside.
The MG Hector Plus will be available with a 1.5 litre petrol, 1.5 litre petrol Hybrid and a 2.0 litre diesel engine option. This is the same engine that we have seen in regular Hector earlier. Only the 1.5 litre non-Hybrid petrol version will get a DCT gearbox and all the other variants will be available with a manual gearbox only. The MG Hector Plus will compete with Toyota Innova Crysta.
