Honda Motors India launched their all new 350-cc motorcycle: CB350 H’Ness in the market today. Two wheeler manufacturers especially motorcycles have now slowly concentrating on bigger capacity motorcycle and that is quite popular among young riders. H’Ness is Honda’s take on that and it will compete with the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Jawa 42 in the segment. How does Honda H’Ness stand in terms of specs and styling when compared to the popular Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Jawa 42 let’s find out.
Royal Enfield which has been a popular choice among bikers for many years is 2,160 mm long, 790 mm wide and 1090 mm tall. RE Classic 350 gets retro design with round headlamps with conventional headlamps. The Jawa 42 on the other hand also follows a similar design language but is a bit more modern. The Honda H’Ness or Highness is the latest entrant in the 350-cc segment and is longer wider and taller than the other two motorcycles. In terms of design it has modern elements like LED headlamps, DRLs, LED turn indicators and so on. It is 2163 mm long, 800 mm wide and 1107 mm tall. which is more than both the motorcycles.

Both Royal Enfield and Jawa 42 get spoke wheels whereas the Honda Highness 350 comes with alloy wheels. Overall design of the Highness looks premium and retro modern. Coming to the instrument cluster, Highness scores high marks here too. It displays information like average mileage, real time mileage, ballery voltage meter, gear position indicator and distance to empty. The top-end DLX variant of Highness gets bluetooth connectivity feature that shows turn by turn navigation, control music and answering calls too. All these features are missing in the other two motorcycles.
Honda is also offering Selectable Torque control feature with Highness which stops the rear wheel from spinning or slipping. Honda Highness 350 is powered by a 348-cc, single cylinder air cooled engine that generates a maximum of 20.8 Bhp and 30 Nm of peak torque. The RE Classic 350 generates 19 Bhp and 28 Nm of torque. The Jawa is currently the most powerful in the segment. The 293-cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine of Jawa 42 generates 27 Bhp and 28 Nm of torque. Both RE Classic 350 and Honda Highness get a 5 speed manual gearbox whereas the Jawa 42 gets a 6 speed transmission.
Coming to the prices, Honda has not revealed the price for the top-end DLX variant but, the regular version is priced at Rs 1.9 lakh, ex-showroom. The RE Classic 350 is prices start at Rs 1.58 lakh and go up to Rs 1.86 lakh, ex-showroom and the Jawa 42 is priced at Rs 1.60 lakh, ex-showroom. This makes Honda Highness more expensive than both the motorcycles.
