Bollywood actor Kunal Khemu, who is now known as Kunal Khemu is actually a motorcycle enthusiast. He has number of motorcycles in his garage and he has been spotted riding motorcycles several times in the past. Kunal Khemu has now added one more new motorcycle to his garage. He has now bought BMW R 1250 GS adventure tourer motorcycle. Pictures of him posing with the motorcycle and videos of riding it with his friends have already surfaced online. The BMW R 1250 GS is a beautiful motorcycle and is currently brand’s flagship adventure tourer.
Kunal Khemu took the delivery of his R1250 GS in Mumbai. Like many other adventure tourer motorcycles in the market, BMW R 1250 GS is also an expensive motorcycle. BMW R1250 GS is available in four variants – GS Standard, GS Pro, GS Adventure Standard and GS Adventure Pro. Price for the standard version starts at Rs 20.45 lakh, ex-showroom. The version that Kunal Khemu owns is priced at Rs 22.35 lakh, ex-showroom. As the variant name suggests, the version with Adventure suffix are more adventure oriented whereas the standard is more road biased motorcycle.

BMW had launched this adventure tourer motorcycle in India last year. It is a technologically advanced motorcycle with features to make life of the rider easy on or off-the road. It has proper adventure tourer design with a beak at the front. The headlamp and DRL were revised and it comes with 6.5 inch full colour TFT multi-functional instrument panel. It even supports smart phone connectivity via Bluetooth. It comes with riding modes, Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and Hill Start Control as standard. It gets a semi-active electronic suspension and even gets a sports suspension package too.
BMW is also offering heated grips, keyless ride, tyre pressure control system, cruise control, centre stand etc as an option. BMW Motorrad is also offering number of touring accessories with R 1250 GS motorcycle. BMW R 1250 GS adventure tourer is powered by a 1245-cc, twin cylinder boxer engine that generates 134 Bhp at 7,750 rpm and 143 Nm of peak torque at 6250 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
It gets BMW’s variable camshaft technology called ‘Shiftcam’ which helps in spreading the torque evenly across the rev range. It is a powerful motorcycle and can easily 200 Kmph mark. Kunal Khemu had bought a Ducati Scrambler in 2018 and he even has a Harley Davidson Iron 883 in his garage. He is brother-in-law of actor Saif Ali Khan and he was spotted riding Saif’s bike a couple of times.
The BMW R1250 GS rivals the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 1260 and the Triumph Tiger 1200. It’s a top-of-the-line adventure bike that’s now world famous as a lot of round-the-world tourers have used it. The BMW GS was highly regarded for its reliability when it was offered with an air cooled boxer engine. The current model does have some niggles and major issues. In fact, a few BMW R1250 GS adventure bikes have seen spokes of the wheel getting sheared off.
