Tata Motors delivers COVID-proof Altroz, Tiago & Nexon thanks to ‘Safety Bubble’

Home grown car manufacturer Tata Motors has a variety of vehicles in their line-up. Tata Motors is popular in the Indian market for manufacturing safer cars. Their products like Nexon and Altroz have scored 5 stars at Global NCAP crash tests. However, during these times, it is not just the accidents that people are worried about. Because of the pandemic people are taking extra precautionary measure to keep themselves safe from the Corona virus. Tata Motors has now come up with a new way keep the cars safe. They have now started delivering cars to their customers in a safety bubble.

This is actually a good measure taken by the manufacturer as it would give the customer a sense of satisfaction when he or she is coming to collect the new vehicle. Normally, a car is sanitised before the delivery happens but, there are chances that it might get contaminated as it is parked like any other car. The safety bubble solves that issue because, no one can actually touch the vehicle directly because of the bubble.

As seen in the images that are shared by Tata Motors on their social media page, they can be seen delivering Tata Nexon and Tiago hatchback to customers. Both the cars have been sanitised and are placed inside the safety bubble. Tata motors is expected to deliver all their vehicles to customer in the same manner.

The Tiago is the entry level hatchback sold by Tata and it has scored star ratings at Global NCAP crash test. It received an update earlier this year along with an updated BS6 compliant engine. It is available with a  1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine only. The diesel version of Tiago was discontinued as part of BS6 transition. The petrol engine is available with a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox option.

The Nexon which is the other vehicle seen in the imaged getting the safety bubble also received an update in terms of styling earlier this year. It is a sub-4 meter compact SUV that competes with cars like Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue in the segment. The facelifted version of Nexon SUV is available with both petrol and diesel engine option which are BS6 compliant. The petrol version gets a 1.2 litre turbocharged engine whereas the diesel is powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged unit. Both petrol and diesel engine options get manual and AMT gearbox option.

Just like any other sector, COVID-19 has also affected the automobile sector. Manufacturers are now constantly trying new ways to improve the sales figure even during these times. This safety bubble thing from Tata Motors will definitely have a good impression on the customer as he can be sure that the car is not contaminated after it got sanitised. We expect more car makers in India to follow similar procedures to ensure that the Corona Virus doesn’t spread through car delivery.
