All-new Tata Safari vs Adventure Persona Edition: 5 changes explained

Tata Motors just launched the 2021 Safari on 22nd. It is completely different from the previous one as it is based on a new Omega ARC platform and a monocoque chassis instead of a ladder-frame chassis.

To everyone’ surprise, Tata also launched an Adventure Persona Edition,  which no one was expecting. While there are no mechanical changes to the Adventure Persona Edition, it gets 5 cosmetic changes that are substantial and today we list them all down.

Exclusive colour

The Adventure Persona Edition is available only in one colour which is Tropical Mist, it looks like a teal green colour. Tata says that the colour is inspired by the rich and diverse flora present across the vibrant landscapes of our country.

Blacked-out exterior trim

Tata has removed all the chrome trims from the Adventure Persona Edition to give the Safari a more stealthy look. The front chrome surrounds for the headlamps, tri-arrow front grille, “Safari” badging and the front skid plate is finished in black instead of chrome. At the side, the door handles and the roof rails are also finished in black. At the rear also the “Safari” badging is finished in black instead of chrome.

Cabin theme

The Safari gets an ivory white upholstery whereas the Adventure Persona Edition gets an Earthy Brown cabin theme. It also gets piano-black over the AC vents, steering wheel, centre console, grabs handle surrounds, switches and knobs. There are no changes to the features or the layout of the cabin.

Different finish on alloys

The regular Safari gets machined 18-inch alloy wheels that are an inch bigger than the Harrier. The design for the alloy wheels on both SUVs remains the same. For the Adventure Edition, the 18-inch alloy wheels are finished in Charcoal-grey.

Price

The Adventure Persona Edition is only available with XZ+ and the XZA+ variant. Where Safari’s XZ+ variant costs Rs. 19.99 lakhs ex-showroom, the Adventure Persona Edition will cost you Rs. 20.20 lakhs ex-showroom. For the XZA+ variant, the Safari costs Rs. 21.25 lakhs ex-showroom but the Adventure Persona Edition costs Rs. 21.45 lakhs ex-showroom. That is a difference of Rs. 20,000.

The changes for the Adventure Persona Edition are only cosmetic. There are no mechanical changes being made to the SUV. So, it continues to get the same 2.0-litre Kyrotec diesel engine that produces 170 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 350 Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President of Passenger Vehicles Business Division, Tata Motors, said, “Safari had introduced India to the SUV lifestyle and in its contemporary avatar, the new Safari is in-sync with the multifaceted lifestyles of today’s SUV customer. With its plush interiors, state-of-the-art connectivity and premium features, the Safari not just blends in but ups the lifestyle quotient several notches higher.
