Mahindra Thar has been a very popular SUV in the market ever since its launch. It was a popular vehicle among off-road enthusiasts but, the new Mahindra Thar is now a lot more comfortable and is good on and off-the road. Ever since the new generation Thar has launched in the market, we have seen several review, off-road and modification videos and images on the internet. One of the most common type of modification that is currently seen in the all-new Thar is aftermarket front grille and customised interiors. The modifications on this Mahindra Thar have been done by Bimba 4×4. They have done several modifications on Mahindra Thar and several other SUVs in the past. This Mahindra Thar also has several modifications on it. This is probably, India’s first Mahindra Thar to get a roof top tent installed on it. Before moving to the tent, let’s have a quick look at the other modifications that are done to this Mahindra Thar.

Bimbra 4×4 has installed a working snorkel. The snorkel gets a Line-X coating and options for both working and dummy snorkels are available with Bimbra. They are also offering an option to customise the in the Thar. It now gets an modification which helps in sliding the rear seats front and back to generate more space in the boot.
The Mahindra Thar seen in the pictures was actually a soft top convertible version. The hard top seen on this Mahindra Thar is actually an FRP unit installed by Bimbra. The hard top has a load bearing capacity of over 250 kilograms and also have mounting points for the roof top tent. No other modifications were made to the roof to get this tent installed. The tent seen her is a folding ARB roof top tent which can easily accommodate 2 adults in it. The roof top tent extends to the rear of the car and there is also a ladder to climb up.
The cost of installing this FRP hard top with scratch resistant Line-X coating is Rs 74,990 and the cost of roof top tent is Rs 89,990. The roof top tent is placed neatly on the roof and does not give Thar an odd-look. Mahindra The owner of this Mahindra Thar has also installed a refrigerator inside the car which will be handy during off-road trips.
Other than, this Mahindra is also offering a range of adventure accessories which include electric winch, X-trax, hi-lift jack, inflatable jack, tail gate mounted snack tray, air compressor, puncture repair kit and so on. Mahindra is also offering an inflatable be for rear seats and backpacker tent as well.
In comparison to the older Thar, the new one has improved a lot. It is now a lot more refined. Mahindra Thar is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. There is a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2 litre turbocharged diesel engine on offer. Both engines are available with manual and automatic gearbox options.
