Royal Enfield launched took the market by storm when they launched the 650 twins. The Interceptor 650 and the GT 650 have been incredibly successful all over the world. Many people have converted their Royal Enfield motorcycles into bobbers because as of now Royal Enfield does not have any bobber in its lineup. The Chennai based manufacturer is working on new types of designs for the 650 platform but none of them is a bobber. So, nomadic__16_design on Instagram decided to imagine what a 650 cc bobber from Royal Enfield would look like.
The artist took the Interceptor 650 and modified it into a bobber. The motorcycle is finished in the Sunset Strip paint scheme which is a new paint scheme that was introduced in 2021. The paint scheme features all body panels finished in black. The fuel tank is also finished in black with ‘Royal Enfield’ written in sunset yellow colour. Then there is a sunset yellow coloured strip that divides the fuel tank and the lower half of the tank is finished in red. Only the fuel tank, the engine and the up-swept twin exhausts have been carried over from the stock Interceptor.
At the front, we can see it is now using knobby tyres and slightly different spoke rims. There is also a different disc design and a slimmer front fender. The headlamp is a circular unit and mimics an old school design. It is similar to the ones that we have seen on the Royal Enfield Classic. There are also no fork gaiters on the render whereas the 2021 Interceptor now comes with fork gaiters from the factory.

The side panels are different and capsule-shaped. There is also a different brown coloured single seat like we have seen on bobbers. The tail lamp has been mounted on the rear fender. Interestingly, we do not see any turn indicators on the render. There is also no traditional number plate holder but that could have been mounted onto the left side of the motorcycle.
The Interceptor 650 is powered by a 648 cc parallel-twin engine that is air/oil-cooled. The engine produces 47 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 52 Nm. It is the most powerful and most refined engine that Royal Enfield has ever produced. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that comes with a slip and assists clutch.
The chassis of the motorcycle has been designed by Harris Performance. Braking duties are done by discs at both ends. The front disc measures 320 mm and comes with steel braided lines while the rear one measures 240 mm. Suspension duties are carried by conventional forks at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers that only offer adjustment for preload.
The overall design elements of the motorcycle are very retro so it appeals to most people. Where the Interceptor 650 is a roadster, the Continental GT 650 is a Cafe Racer. It is currently the flagship motorcycle for Royal Enfield and it is one of the best looking motorcycles that you can buy.
The GT 650 is the successor to the GT 535 which was discontinued just before the twins were launched. Other mechanical bits of the GT 650 stays the same as the Interceptor 650. The Interceptor 650 starts at Rs. 2.73 lakhs ex-showroom and the Continental GT 650 starts at Rs. 2.89 lakhs ex-showroom.
