Alcazar becomes 10 millionth car that Hyundai has produced in India

Hyundai is the second-largest automobile manufacturer in India and is also one of the biggest exporters. They launched the Alcazar this month and it has already gathered 4,000 bookings. Their production plant just rolled out 10 millionth car which happens to be the new Alcazar. Thiru MK Stalin, Honorable Chief Minister of Tamilnadu and Mr. S S Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd was at the production plant when the 10 Millionth car rolled out. 

Hyundai has contributed to the Indian Economy with an investment of $ 4 Billion. They have employed over 15,000 people and the manufacturer has also completed 25 years of being in India. In Tamil Nadu alone, they have generated 2.5 lakh employments.

Hyundai is also one of the leading exporters in India. They have exported over 2 lakh units of Creta and Venue. The SUVs are being shipped to Chile, Mexico, South Africa, Nepal and Saudi Arabia. Last year they launched the premium hatchback, i20 which is also being exported to foreign countries such as Latin America and Africa. They are also using railways to export vehicles to Nepal from Walajabad Railway Hub near Irungattukottai near Chennai.

Hyundai Alcazar

The Alcazar is based on the Creta but has a 150 mm longer wheelbase. This has been done to make space for the rear occupants and add a third row. The Alcazar is offered as a 6-seater and a 7-seater SUV. The 6-seater version comes with captain seats and a dedicated central console for the rear occupants too. The rear central console comes with storage, two cupholders, an armrest and a wireless charger. The Alcazar has been positioned between Creta and Tucson.

Hyundai is not offering any base variant so even the lower-spec variant starts at Rs. 16.30 lakhs ex-showroom but it is very generously equipped. It comes with LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, automatic climate control, push-button to start/stop, cruise control, LED fog lamps, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, second row AC vents and much more on the lower-spec variant. Hyundai is even offering a voice-enabled panoramic sunroof and rear sunshades as standard. The Alcazar comes with a petrol and a diesel engine. You can opt for both of them with a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission.
