We have seen teaser videos and spy pictures of the Mahindra XUV700 and now, the engine details of the upcoming SUV has now been revealed before its launch. The XUV700 will be more powerful than the recently launched Hyundai Alcazar, the MG Hector and the Tata Safari. Mahindra will be offering XUV700 with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine powering the all-new SUV will be a 2.0 litre mStallion turbocharged unit and the diesel version will get a 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged engine. The 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine in upcoming XUV700 will generate a maximum of 200 Bhp and the 2.2 litre diesel engine will generate 185 Bhp. These engines are the same that are used in Mahindra Thar but, they are in a different state of tune in XUV700. In Mahindra Thar the same petrol and diesel engine generate 150 Bhp and 130 Bhp respectively.
Mahindra XUV700 will be an SUV that might come with several segment first features.

This will make XUV700 the most powerful SUV in its segment. The XUV700 will compete with cars like MG Hector and recently launched Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Safari. Both Alcazar and MG Hector have a less powerful petrol engine while Tata offers only diesel engine with Safari. Just like its rivals, Mahindra will be offering the XUV700 in both 6 and 7 seater layout. Mahindra will be offering it as a three row SUV initially and later on is expected to introduce a 5 seater option as well.
Mahindra recently teased us with the video online where it shows a booster headlamp technology. This is a feature that will automatically switch on more lights if the road gets too dark at night. Mahindra XUV700 will also be offering the biggest panoramic sunroof in the segment. In terms of exterior design, it is expected to have a modern SUV looks which will be derived from the current XUV500. It will get an LED DRL that extends to the bumper of the car.
Other features that Mahindra will be offering with the XUV700 include a flush door handles and a Mercedes-Benz like dual screen instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment screen setup. Both these features will be introduced in the segment for the first time. Mahindra is also expected to offer customers choice from multiple interior shade options to give the cabin a personalised look. Mahindra will be offering drive modes, ambient lights, Automatic climate control, Advance Driver Assistance System, electronic parking brake and several other features.
Indian car and utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra has been working on several new models. One of them was the brand new Mahindra Thar which got launched in the market last year. It received an overwhelming response from the customer and is currently one of the best selling 4×4 SUV in the market. Mahindra is also working on next-gen Scorpio and all-new XUV700. The next-gen Scorpio is expected to launch in the market next year while the all-new XUV700 will be launched in the market later this year. Mahindra is expected to launch the all-new XUV700 by October this year. Just like Mahindra Thar, XUV700 is also a very important product from Mahindra this year.
