Hyundai Creta is one of the best selling mid-size SUV in its segment. Hyundai launched it in the market last year and it quickly grabbed buyers attention for its unique looks and feature loaded cabin. It is so popular that it still has waiting period on it. When Hyundai launched Creta, there base E variant was one of the most popular as people usually bought Creta and customised it to their liking afterwards. Initially, E variant was only available with a diesel engine but later, Hyundai launched it with the petrol engine too. Hyundai has several trims in Creta and number of features differ depending upon the trim you choose. Here we have a video that shows how different the base E trim of Creta is from the recently launched EX trim.

In this video, vlogger has parked the base E and Ex trims of Creta in a stockyard and is explaining all the differences between this SUV. He starts with the front. At first both E and Ex trims look almost the same, Both get black grille at the front with silver outlines, LED DRLs, single projector headlamps and turn indicators on the lower part of the bumper. The Thing that differentiates E from EX trim is the silver finished faux skid plate in the Ex trim. This is missing in base E trim.

Coming to the side profile, there is a silver finished cladding on the side running board in Ex trim and the turn indicators are LED and are integrated with the ORVMs. In E variant, the turn indicators are placed on the fender. Earlier even the base E version used to get ORVM mounted turn indicators but, Hyundai changed it earlier this year. The ORVMs on Ex trim can be adjusted electrically while the ones on E version have to be adjusted manually. Both version do not get roof rails and the E version gets micro antenna while Ex gets a shark fin antenna. Just like at the front, the EX model gets a silver finished aux skid plate at the rear.
As we move in, the difference between these models is more evident. The Hyundai Creta Ex variant offer a touchscreen infotainment screen, steering mounted audio control, sunglass holder and low tyre pressure warning system. All these features are missing on the base E variant. The Ex variant also gets 4 speakers and two tweeters which is not available with E variant. Other than this, the layout of the interiors remain same and they both come with dual tone interiors with fabric seats and manual AC.
The price of base E variant petrol is Rs. 9.99 lakh, whereas the Ex petrol comes at Rs 10.96 lakh, ex-showroom. The E diesel variant is priced at Rs. 10.51 lakh, ex-showroom while the Ex costs Rs. 11.91 lakh, ex-showroom. Hyundai Creta is available with two petrol and one diesel engine option. There is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol that comes with manual and CVT gearbox. The 1.5 litre diesel engine comes with manual and automatic transmission. The 1.4 litre turbo petrol is offered with a 7-speed DCT gearbox only.
