Skoda Kodiaq facelift spotted testing without camouflage in India

Skoda had unveiled the 2022 version of Kodiaq in the international market few months ago. The Czech car manufacturer has plans to launch the facelifted version of Kodiaq in the market later this year. The SUV has now been spotted in India without any camouflage. This is probably the first time that the Kodiaq Facelift has been spotted in India. A video of the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq SUV is also available online.

The video has been shared by MotorBeam on their YouTube channel and the car was spotted by one their follower. The Kodiaq seen here gets a Nardo Grey like paint job which looks extremely good on the car. The variant seen here is the Sportline.

Talking about the changes, in comparison to the older version Skoda has made several changes to the Kodiaq facelift. The front grille looks slightly bigger and sits upright. The revised headlamps are placed on either ends of the front grille. The headlamps are now sleeker than pre-facelift version. The headlamps are LED units and fog lamps are placed right below the headlamps. Along with the grille and headlamps, the front bumper on the Kodiaq has also been revised.

As this is the Sportline variant there are no chrome strips around the grille and window line. All these elements have been blacked out and that gives the SUV a sporty look. The door handles are body coloured and the ORVM covers have also been blacked out. The alloy wheels get a new design but they have been blacked out. They have a similar design to what we have seen in the international variants.

Moving to the rear, Skoda Kodiaq facelift gets a revised bumper, sleeker LED tail lamps and a new spoiler. The spy video also shows a glimpse of the interior of the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq. The dashboard looks clean and is mostly black with piano black panels running across it. The cabin looks premium and Skoda’s three spoke multi-function steering is also seen in the video.

The car would come with leather wrapped seats and the higher variants would also offer ventilation and massage function. The seats can be electrically adjusted and they would come with memory function as well. Other features that would be offered with Skoda Kodiaq facelift include a 10.25 inch fully digital instrument cluster, 9.2 inch touchscreen infotainment screen that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay. Skoda will also offer features like ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, premium speaker system from Canton and so on.

Skoda Kodiaq facelift will be offered with a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine only. The engine generates 190 Ps and 320 Nm of peak torque and the power is sent is all four wheels. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Kodiaq will compete with the likes of Tiguan AllSpace, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster in the segment. Skoda recently launched Kushaq mid-size SUV and are also working on a new mid-size sedan Slavia which is expected to replace Rapid. The upcoming sedan will compete with cars like Honda City and Hyundai Venue in the segment.
