Hyundai i20 N Line vs i20 Asta Turbo First Look Comparison[Video]

Hyundai recently unveiled the i20 N Line for the Indian market. The hot hatchback is supposed to launch in September. The N Line variants are based on the regular variants so people want to know for what all differences they will be paying extra for. Here, is a video uploaded by Faizy Freak on YouTube where he will be showing us the differences between the two versions.

The video starts with the exhaust note of the N Line i20, it sounds a lot sportier than the regular i20. This is because of the different exhaust that Hyundai is using for the N Line. The projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps and projector fog lamps are the same for both versions.

The difference is in the grille. The N Line gets a more aggressive grille with a chequered flag design and N Line badging whereas the Asta gets a piano black grille. There is a red accent placed in the N Line’s bumper’s and the Asta gets the usual black finish in the lower half of the bumper.

On the side, the main difference is between the alloy wheel design of both variants. The alloy wheels measure 16-inches in size but the N Line variants alloys look sportier. Also, N Line variants get N badge in the centre of the alloy whereas Asta gets the regular Hyundai badge.

The N Line gets front and rear disc brakes finished in red and it also gets red side skirts. Asta misses out on rear disc brakes and red brake calipers. Instead of red side skirts, it comes with black side skirts. Asta gets chrome door handles whereas N Line gets body-coloured door handles. The chrome belt line below the windows has also been replaced with black colour for the N Line. At the rear, there is a faux diffuser, N Line badging, twin tip exhausts and a different rear spoiler in the N Line.

Then the host comes enters the cabin. There is a three-spoke steering wheel instead of a four-spoke one in the N Line. The steering wheel also gets red stitching. The seats are also different, they have an N badge, chequered flag embossed in them and gets red stitching. The door pads, AC vents and climate control get red inserts. There is also a different manual gear lever for the manual gearbox which is exclusive to the N Line.

The ambient lighting is also red in colour. Moreover, there is Hill Assist, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control. There is no ambient lighting in the Asta variant. Both versions get the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that comes with direct injection.

It produces 120 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 172 Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed intelligent Manual Transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Hyundai has tweaked the suspension setup of the N Line so that it handles better than the regular i20.
