Mahindra Thar is currently one of the most popular 4×4 SUVs in the market. It was launched in the market last year and quickly grabbed buyers attention. It is so popular that their is a waiting period of almost an year on this SUV. Mahindra Thar currently has no direct competition. The main reason behind its popularity is its pricing. It is currently the most affordable 4×4 SUV one can buy in the country. Just like the old-gen Thar, people have started modifying the current generation and we have seen many of them on the internet. Here we have a Mahindra Thar which comes with Peelable paint on it.
The images have been shared by auto_marc on their Instagram profile. What makes this Mahindra Thar different is the paint itself. This is probably the only Thar in the country to get Mohave Sand coloured peelable paint on it. This is basically a colour that is offered with Jeep SUVs. The Peelable paint is just like a regular paint which can be sprayed over the original paint of the car.

The benefit of peelable paint is that it can be easily removed or peeled off without damaging the original paint. Owner of this SUV had done many other modifications to the Thar. Starting at the front, the original grille of Mahindra Thar has been replaced with a Jeep Wrangler like aftermarket unit. The halogen headlamps have been replaced too. It now comes with all LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs in it.
The bumper on the Thar been completely blacked out and the stock fog lamps are replaced for LED units. Coming to the side profile, Mahindra Thar gets gloss black aftermarket alloy wheels with MT tyres. The brake calipers on this Mahindra Thar have been painted in green shade. All the badges that were finished in chrome have been blacked out for a rugged look.
The interiors of this Thar has also bee customised. It now gets all black interiors which will go well with the overall look and feel of the car. The car looks unique with all these modifications in place. Mahindra Thar is available with convertible soft top, soft top and hard top. The one seen here is a an LX soft top convertible model. Mahindra Thar comes with decent list of features like ABS, Vehicle stability control system, TPMS and so on. Other than these safety features, Mahindra offers touchscreen infotainment system and roof mounted speakers that are drizzle resistant.
There is a multi-function steering wheel, power windows, front facing seats for rear passengers, cruise control, central locking and so on. The Thar is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol version is powered by 2.0 litre mStallion turbocharged engine whereas the diesel version uses a 2.2 litre mHawk turbo diesel engine. Petrol version generates 150 Ps and 320 Nm of torque, while the diesel version generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Both petrol and diesel are available with manual and automatic gearbox option. All-new Mahindra Thar is available with 4×4 as standard across the range.
