Tata is one of India’s leading car manufacturer and they have variety of products in their portfolio. Tata recently launched their second electric vehicle in the personal EV segment. Tata is a manufacturer who is known for making safe cars. They have cars like Nexon and Altroz that has scored 5 star rating at Global NCAP. Tata Tigor EV, which got launched in the market today, is also a safe car and has scored 4 star safety rating at the Global NCAP crash test. This makes Tigor EV one of the safest sedans in this segment. The petrol version of the Tigor had also scored similar rating at the crash test.
The video has been shared by Global NCAP on their YouTube channel. The Tigor EV has scored 12 points out of 17 for adults and 37.24 points out of 49 points for child safety in the crash test. In the crash test, front end of the Tigor EV successfully absorbed impact of the crash. The A pillar of the Tigor EV did not collapse on impact. The air bags at the front did deploy on time keeping all the occupants safe inside the car.

Tigor EV is available in three variants – XE, XM and XZ+. The top-end XZ+ variant is also available with a Dual tone option. Prices for the Tata Tigor EV start at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom and go up to Rs 13.14 lakh, ex-showroom. Tata is offering Tigor EV in Teal Blue and Daytona Grey shade. Both these colour options come with electric Blue accents that differentiate it from regular Tigor sedan.
Tigor EV is currently the most affordable electric car in the segment. What makes things more interesting is the driving range. Tata Tigor EV has an ARAI certified maximum driving range of 306 kms. This is quite impressive but, in real life driving conditions this range may differ due to several reasons.
In terms of design, Tata is offering Tigor EV with the same design as the petrol version. It has a projector type headlamps, LED DRLs, fog lamps, gloss black grille with tri-arrow designs and EV branding on it. The lower grille also gets tri-arrow designs. Tata is offering hyper style dual tone wheel caps with Tigor EV which look like alloy wheels. There is electric blue accent in the wheel cap as well.
The coupe like sloping roof design, roof mounted spoiler high with LED stop lamps, clear lens tail lamps are all retained. The Tigor EV gets 30+ connected car features which include remote commands and remote diagnostics. The car is compatible with globally acceptable CCS2 charging protocol and can be fast-charged as well as slow-charged from any 15 A plug point. Tata is offering features like touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, rear parking sensors and camera, Airbags, ABS with EBD and so on
Tigor EV uses a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is IP67 rated water and dust resistant. The electric motor generates 75 Ps and 170 Nm of peak torque. Tata Tigor EV is a sub-4 meter compact electric sedan and currently there are no rivals for the car in this segment.
