Punch will soon be joining the line-up of Tata Motors. It is a micro SUV that will launch on 4th October. There is quite a bit of information available on the internet but now, the prices and some features of the Punch have been leaked. Here, is a video uploaded by Her Garage on her YouTube channel that shows the features and the prices.
The video reveals that the Punch will come with automatic headlamps. We already know that there will be LED Daytime Running Lamps and projector headlamps. The fog lamps will also have a cornering function. The tail lamps will also use LEDs and Tata will also offer rear fog lamps.

The alloy wheels measure 16-inches in size and come with an 8-spoke dual-tone design. The ground clearance of the Punch is 187 mm so you will not have to worry about scraping the car’s underbelly. The boot space of Punch will be 366 litres which is more than what Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza offers.
Tata Motors will also offer iRA connected car technology. It will offer 27 connected car features, what3words and natural voice technology. The rear floor is almost flat so the occupant sitting in the centre of the rear seat will not face any issue regarding the legroom. There is also a rear armrest, but it does not get cupholders.
Just like the Altroz, Punch’s doors will also open up to 90-degrees so getting in and out would be quite easy even for the elderly people. It would also come with cruise control and rain-sensing wipers. Punch will be based on the ALFA platform that stands for Agile Light Flexible Architecture, it is already being used on the Altroz premium hatchback. So, we can expect Punch to score a good crash test rating by the Global NCAP.
Dual airbags and ABS with EBD will be offered as standard. The engine will be the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder unit that we have seen on multiple Tata cars like Altroz, Tiago and Tigor. It produces 86 PS of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. There will be no turbocharged engine on offer.
Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. If you opt for the AMT transmission, then you also get Traction Pro Mode. It will be able to sense if the vehicle is stuck in the mud or slush and will automatically recommend the driver to turn on the Traction Pro mode.
According to the video, the bookings for the Punch are now opened. The on-road pricing of Punch is between Rs. 6 lakhs and Rs. 10 lakhs. The ex-showroom price of the Punch should be around Rs. 5 lakhs. There are four variants on offer, namely Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. There will be six colour options to choose from White, Grey, Urban Bronze, Orange, Blue and Stonehenge (Silver). You would be able to get it in single tone as well as dual-tone shades.
