Suzuki S-Cross: Real life images of the India-bound SUV

Suzuki has revealed the new all-new S-Cross in the global market. We expect Maruti to launch the 2022 S-Cross in the Indian market sometime next year. Suzuki has heavily reworked the exterior of the SUV so it looks entirely different and fresh when compared to the current S-Cross. Now, we have some real-life images of the SUV.

The 2022 S-Cross in the pictures is finished in a nice paint shade of red colour. It is a single-tone colour the roof and wing mirrors are also finished in the same paint shade. The S-Cross now looks more like a SUV rather than looking like a crossover. This is a good thing because the rivals of the S-Cross had more road presence because of their design.

There is a new hexagonal grille that looks nice and has a thick horizontal chrome slat right in between. There are new LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps. There is a new bumper too with a fake skid plate. The turn indicators are placed in the fog lamp housing and the fog lamps are also expected to LED units.

On the side profile, there are squared-off wheel arches with thick black plastic cladding, running throughout the length of the car. There are new alloy wheels finished in grey and turn indicators are placed on the outside rearview mirrors.

The rear is also all-new. There are new split tail lamps with clear lenses. Both the tail lamps are connected by a black panel. The lower portion of the bumper is finished in black and gets a faux skid plate. There is a rear wiper with a washer, a rear spoiler, a high mounted stop lamp and a rear fog lamp.

There have been some changes to the interior as well. There is a new 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a new user interface, a new instrument cluster and a redesigned dashboard. The feature list includes, push button to start/stop, a 360-degree parking camera, multi-function steering wheel, front and rear armrest, cruise control, automatic climate control and much more.

Quite a bit of equipment has been carried over from the previous generation of S-Cross. The steering wheel, switchgear, stocks, gear lever, automatic climate control system and air conditioning vents are carried over. Moreover, the multi-information display is also the same, only the colour scheme has been updated.

Suzuki is offering the 2022 S-Cross with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that Suzuki calls BoosterJet. It produces 130 PS of max power and 235 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Suzuki finally managed to upgrade their 4-speed automatic transmission to a 6-speed one. The 12V mild-hybrid system has been upgraded to a 48V one. Also, there is Suzuki’s AllGrip all-wheel drive available with the S-Cross. The top speed of the 2022 S-Cross is 195 kmph.
