Tata Motors launched their all-new micro SUV Punch in the market recently. It is currently the most affordable SUV in Tata’s line up. The car has already started reaching dealerships and deliveries for the same has also started. We have already started seeing modification videos of Tata Punch online and here we have a comparison video where Accomplished variant of Tata Punch and S variant of Venue are compared to each other. Both these SUVs are positioned one below the top-end variant.
The video has been shared by MotorZone on their YouTube channel. The video starts with vlogger comparing the exterior design and features of both the SUVs. The Hyundai Venue is a sub-4 meter compact SUV while Tata Punch is positioned a segment below that. In terms of dimensions, Hyundai Venue is longer and wider when compared to Tata Punch.

Vlogger mentioned in the video that he personally liked the design of Tata Punch as it looked a lot more muscular than Venue. Hyundai Venue offers projector headlamps while Tata Punch gets halogen lamps only. Both SUVs offer fog lamps and LED DRLs. None of the SUVs get an alloy wheel in this trim. Hyundai Venue gets silver wheel caps while Tata Punch gets a black finished wheel cap that looks like an alloy wheel.
Tata offers keyless entry in the Accomplished trim while Hyundai Venue does not get it. Moving in, Tata Punch offers features like push button start/stop, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, manually height adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, analog instrument cluster with MID, floating type touchscreen infotainment system, fabric seats and so on. Tata also offers auto start stop feature with Punch.
Hyundai Venue also offers decent amount of features in the S variant. The SUV offers a touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control and so on. It misses out on features like push button start/stop, cruise control and 90 degree wide opening doors. Hyundai Venue offers a rear AC vent which is missing in Tata Punch. Tata is offering a puncture repair kit with Punch which is not offered with any other car in the segment.
Tata Motors is offering customisation packs with every variant of Punch. These packs include Tata’s genuine accessories that allows the owner to opt for features that are otherwise available in higher variants. Hyundai is not offering any such customisation options to its customer. Hyundai Venue is offered with three engine options. There is a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which is seen in the video. This engine is offered with a manual gearbox as standard.
Hyundai also offers a 1.0 litre, three cylinder turbo petrol engine which is offered with a manual, 7-speed DCT and an iMT gearbox. The third engine on offer is a 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine that is offered with a manual gearbox. Tata Punch on the other hand is powered by a 1.2 litre, three cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox option. Vlogger can be heard saying in the video that he prefers Hyundai’s petrol engine over Punch as it is more refined.
