Tata Safari gets new features after software update by service centre [Video]

A few weeks after launching the ‘Gold Edition’ variants of the Safari, Tata Motors has upgraded the Safari with a few additional features. The new features are introduced in the top-spec XZ, XZ+, XZA and XZA+ variants of the Tata Safari and are purely convenience-oriented.

The said variants of the Tata Safari are now equipped with new features like wireless charging for smartphones, an air purifier with AQI index display in the infotainment screen, Wi-Fi connectivity and wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The infotainment system also runs on a new R18.00 version for smoother touch operation and quick touch response. The wireless charger pad is placed ahead of the drive mode selector knob in the lower part of the centre console.

The XZ, XZA, XZ+ and XZA+ variants of the Tata Safari are already generously loaded variants. On the outside, they get features like Xenon HID projector headlamps, front fog lamps with cornering function, dual functioning daytime running LEDs, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, roof rails and LED tail lamps.

The cabin too gets premium features like Benecke Kaliko Signature Oyster White leather upholstery, knob for terrain response modes, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 9-speaker JBL sound system with sub-woofer and amplifier, 7-inch TFT monitor in instrument console, powered driver’s seat, tilt and telescopic adjustable multi-functional steering wheel, electronic parking brake and six airbags. The XZ+ and XZA+ variants also get a panoramic sunroof and option for captain seats in the middle row.

No mechanical changes in the car

Introduced at the beginning of 2021, the new Tata Safari arrived as a seven-seater version of the Tata Harrier, with a distinctively different looking rear profile, different upholstery option and minute tweaks at the front. However, it continues to be powered with the same 2.0-litre Stellantis-sourced diesel engine from the Harrier.

Tata Safari is powered by the 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 170 PS and peak torque of 350 Nm. There is a choice between a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. There is no petrol variant available with the all-new Tata Safari, however, Tata may launch the petrol variants at a later date if the demand arises. The vehicle also gets a long list of safety features. It gets a 14-function ESP that gets various traction modes, terrain modes and more. All the four wheels of the Safari get disc brakes too. The vehicle gets six airbags with the top-end variant too.
