Smashed up Honda Amaze restored to brand-new condition [Video]

In the past, we have featured several restoration and modification videos on our website. At times, the cars need such restoration work due to dents and scratches on the body that occur due to minor accidents over the year. If a vehicle is involved in any major accident, the damage is beyond repair, customer is advised to scrap the vehicle and get the insurance claim. Most of the time people do it but, what if the car is personally very close to the customer? Here we have one such video where a customer who did not wanted to scrap his smashed up first generation Honda Amaze and got it neatly restored to a brand-new condition.

The video has been uploaded by BROTOMOTIV on their YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger mentions that this was one of the toughest project that there garage has done so far. This Honda Amaze was very close to the heart of the customer as it was their first vehicle. For many reason he did not wanted to scrap the vehicle and claim the insurance money.

The car was involved in an accident and had toppled. The roof and the pillars were completely smashed. The front portion of the car had also seen major damage. In short, the car was not in a drivable condition. It was brought to the garage in a tow truck. As this was a major restoration project, it took some time for the vlogger and his team to arrange parts and components. Unlike some manufacturers, Honda does not offer body panels and other components to third party garages. This meant, they had to arrange the body and damaged parts from other places.

The owner had told the vlogger that he’ll arrange a used body of an Amaze for this project and he finally found a critically damaged body of a Honda Amaze. Initially, vlogger was confused whether to use it or not as many parts had rust on it. Finally they took a closer look at the roof and the pillars and found that it can be replaced without any issue.

By then, workers at the garage had inspected the whole car, took out the engine and chopped off the roof and the pillars. Once that was done, they chopped roof and pillars from the other Honda Amaze and started welding them together. It was actually a task as the body has to be aligned properly. The doors, bonnet, boot were all taken down for this purpose. Once the welding and anti-rust coating was done, the car was then taken to the paint boot.

The existing paint and putty on the car was taken down completely and putty work and sanding was done once again. This was done to achieve a uniform feel. The whole body got sprayed with a coat of primer. The car was painted in Candy white shade which made the car look a lot more premium. The steel rims were replaced with aftermarket alloy wheels and the headlamps, tail lamps, glass, doors, bonnet, boot were all installed. The car looked like a brand-new car and the owner was very happy with the results. He said, he never expected his damaged car would look like this.
