Till now, we have seen multiple videos of car deliveries going wrong. Here, we have a new video in which a person while taking the delivery lost control of the Tata Altroz hatchback. The video is shared by Nikhil Rana.
In the video, we can see an Altroz finished in HighStreet Gold along with a Tata Punch. Suddenly, the car starts moving ahead, it hits a woman and a person sitting on the sofa in the waiting area. The video was shot from a CCTV camera last year on 27th November but it has surfaced on the internet now.

It is still not clear what exactly happened. But what we can say is it is important to take someone experienced while taking delivery of a new vehicle. In the video, we can see that the premium hatchback suddenly shoots forward and hits the woman. Showrooms should not provide the keys of a vehicle to inexperienced people because they might start the vehicle and end up hitting someone or something.
Not the first accident
This is not the first accident that has happened at a dealership. Last week, a video of Mahindra Thar went viral. In the video, we can see that Thar broke a glass wall and got stuck on the platform. Some people would say that it is a good thing that the SUV got stuck there. Otherwise, it would have fallen down. There is also a backhoe helping the Thar after which it successfully reverses back into the showroom.
Tata Altroz

The Altroz is currently the safest premium hatchback that you can buy in the Indian market. It scored 5 stars in the Global NCAP crash test. It competes against the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
The price of Altroz starts at Rs. 5.99 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 9.69 lakhs ex-showroom. It is available in seven variants. There is XE, XE+, XM+, XT, XZ, XZ (O), and XZ+.
Tata Motors offers three engine options with the Altroz. There is a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine, 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

The naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 86 PS and 113 Nm. The diesel engine produces 90 PS and 200 Nm. The turbo petrol produces 110 PS and 140 Nm. All three engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
Tata Motors is also working on a new automatic gearbox for the Altroz. According to the media reports, the automatic transmission would be a dual-clutch unit sourced from Punch. It is the DT-1 gearbox that is specifically designed for compact cars. It is supposed to be less costly than the torque converters and dual-clutch automatic gearboxes. The torque output supported by the gearbox is 200 Nm. The automatic gearbox would be offered only with the turbo petrol engine.
Eventually, this gearbox could also make its way to the Nexon compact SUV. Currently, the Nexon is offered only with a 6-speed manual gearbox or the 6-speed AMT gearbox.
