According to Autocar India, Kia will be releasing the facelift of Seltos by mid-2022. The Seltos’s facelift is already being tested in South Korea along with a Hyundai Venue Facelift. However, this time the top-end variants of the Seltos will come with a panoramic sunroof whereas the mid-spec variants could continue to come with a single pane electric sunroof.
Exterior
The facelift would come with exterior changes. The LED Daytime Running Lamps and projector headlamps could be updated. There would be a new front bumper and new alloys. What the spy shots have confirmed is that the Seltos Facelift will get a new set of LED tail lamps. They are expected to be a split unit.

Interior
The changes to the interior are expected to be minimal. There could be updated upholstery and new materials for the dashboard. The Seltos is already loaded with features. So, there is not a lot that Kia could do in adding features. Yes, there could be a new digital instrument cluster. Some media reports also say that the top-end variant might come with Advanced Driver Aids System. However, that is not confirmed yet.
Rivals and Prices
The Seltos will continue to rival Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks and Volkswagen Taigun. The current prices of the Seltos start at Rs. 9.95 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 18.19 lakhs ex-showroom. Once the facelift launches the prices could go up slightly, the variants that will come with a panoramic sunroof will receive a major hike.
No mechanical changes
There will be no mechanical changes to the Seltos. So, the mid-size SUV will continue to come with three engine options. There will be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
The naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 115 PS and 144 Nm. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, 6-speed iMT or a CVT automatic transmission. The diesel engine produces 115 PS and 250 Nm. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Then there is the turbo petrol engine that produces 140 PS and 242 Nm. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT.
Kia’s next big launch
Kia is now working on launching the Carens MPV. They have already revealed it, opened the bookings, started the production and have also begun test drives of Carens. But we still do not know the prices of the new MPV. It will be going against Toyota Innova Crysta, Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.
Carens will be sold in five variants. There will be Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus. Moreover, there will be three engine options to choose from. A naturally aspirated petrol engine, a diesel engine and a turbo petrol engine. Only the turbo petrol and the diesel engine will be offered with an automatic gearbox.
