2022 Maruti Brezza spied on video: Will rival Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet

2022 is a big year for Maruti Suzuki, they will be launching a lot of new cars this year. One such car will be the new generation of the Vitara Brezza compact SUV. According to the rumours, Maruti Suzuki will launch the Brezza Facelift on April 13th. Here, we have a video of the upcoming 2022 Brezza.

The video is uploaded on YouTube by Aditya Agarwal. In the video, we first see the rear of the 2022 Brezza which has been revamped. The biggest thing that is revealed from the video is the new design of precision-cut alloy wheels.  The front is also new and we can see a glimpse of it.

First of all, it will no longer be called “Vitara Brezza”. Maruti Suzuki will be dropping the Vitara moniker and will simply be called “Brezza”. The manufacturer probably did this because they will be using the Vitara nameplate for an upcoming mid-size SUV. On the tailgate, there will be a Brezza badging.

The pictures of the 2022 Brezza have already been leaked online. We now know what it will look like. Up-front, there will be a set of sleek headlamps that will use LED projector units. They will have two L-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps. There will also be a new grille and a new bumper with a larger faux skid plate.

The overall profile of the Brezza facelift is still boxy which was one of the main reasons behind the compact SUV being so successful in the Indian market. There is still plastic cladding on the sides that gives a butch look to the Brezza. Then we come to the rear, where you would see a new pair of tail lamps which are also a lot sleeker than the current Brezza. There is “Brezza” spelt between the tail lamps.

The cabin will also be revamped. There will be a new floating touchscreen infotainment system that is expected to be derived from the 2022 Baleno. It will measure 9-inches while the lower variants will get a 7-inch unit. It will run on a new user interface and will support Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and connected car technology.

The steering wheel will be the same one as the new Baleno. It will be a flat-bottom unit with a grey plastic insert. It will be a multi-functional unit so will have controls for the infotainment system and cruise control. There is a new instrument cluster also. It is still an analogue unit but the design has been revised. There is also a slightly different multi-information display. 2022 Brezza will also come with an electric sunroof, paddle shifters, 360-degree parking camera, push-button to start/stop the engine, keyless entry etc.

The engine is expected to be the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated unit. It produces a maximum power of 104 PS and a peak torque of 138 Nm. There would be a 5-speed manual gearbox or a new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. As of now, Brezza comes with a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission which is quite old.
