Skoda has launched a new variant of their Kushaq mid-size SUV. It is called the Ambition Classic and it is positioned between the Active and the Ambition variants. It is a limited edition variant that will be sold only with the 1.0 TSI engine and with both, manual as well as and automatic gearbox. The MT variant is priced at Rs. 12.69 lakhs ex-showroom and the AT variant costs Rs. 14.09 lakhs ex-showroom.
The Ambition Classic costs Rs. 1.7 lakhs more than the Active MT variant and Rs. 25,000 less than the Ambition variant. The difference between Ambition AT and Ambition Classic AT is just Rs. 10,000.
The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 115 PS of max power and 178 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. There is also a more powerful 1.5-litre TSI that produces 150 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine is reserved only for the top-end Style variant.

The Ambition Classic does miss out on some features when compared to Ambition. It does not get automatic climate control and the dual-tone fabric seats are replaced with black suede seat covers. The climate control system has been removed probably because of the semiconductor shortage issue.
It does get some cosmetic changes such as chrome accents on the inside and the exterior. Skoda has decided to retain the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that does come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electric foldable outside rearview mirrors, LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps, fog lamps with cornering function, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear wiper with washer and shark-fin antenna.
Other features on offer are Traction Control System, Hill Hold Control, dual airbags, 60:40 split foldable rear seats, centre arm-rest, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear parcel tray, cooled glovebox and mich more.
Kushaq Monte Carlo coming soon
Skoda is also working on a new top-end variant of the Kushaq. It will be called Monte Carlo. The pictures of the new upcoming variant have already been leaked online. It will get some cosmetic changes and feature additions over the Style variant. Kushaq Monte Carlo will launch on 9th May and will be priced at Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 80,000 more than the Style variant. It is expected to be offered with both engines as well as gearboxes.
The leaked pictures give us a glimpse of the upcoming mid-size SUV in white and red colour. It gets blacked-out ORVMs, bumper inserts, roof rails, front and rear skid plate and roof. The badges are also now blacked out and there is a Monte Carlo badge on the side. There are new alloy wheels that measure 17-inches and are derived from the previous generation Skoda Octavia RS 245.
The interior also gets red accents on the dashboard, door panels, centre console and seats. Skoda will also offer a digital instrument cluster in the Monte Carlo variant of Kushaq. This is the same instrument cluster that is found on Slavia.
