Waiting times for certain variants stretch to nearly 2 years.
The XUV700 is Mahindra’s flagship offering, and ex-showroom prices range between Rs. 13.18 lakh for the base trim to Rs. 24.58 lakh for the top-end variants. The SUV features a monocoque body and is front wheel driven across most variants. Only the diesel trims offer an all wheel drive layout on the top-end trims. There are two engines on offer – a 2 liter-4 cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 2.2 liter-4 cylinder turbocharged diesel. Both engines get 6 speed manual and torque converter automatic gearbox options.
The petrol motor makes 197 Bhp-380 Nm, and is known for its silent operation and punchy power delivery. The diesel is also a very refined unit that offers good fuel efficiency and punchy performance. A mainstay of multiple Mahindra SUVs, the diesel motor of the XUV700 is offered in multiple states of tune: 155 Bhp-360 Nm on the base manual trims, 182 Bhp-420 Nm on higher manual trims, and 182 Bhp-450 Nm on the top-end automatic trims.
The Mahindra XUV700 is one of the safest mass-market SUVs sold in India, and the Global NCAP has awarded it a full 5 star rating following a crash test. The key to the XUV700’s excellent performance in the crash safety test is its sturdy bodyshell and safety features such as 7 airbags, ESP, ABS, traction control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring, 360 degree parking camera and blind spot monitoring. The XUV700 also featured an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), consisting of adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking functions.
