After almost a year since its debut, the British motoring brand MG Motor India Private Limited has finally decided to give its flagship SUV Gloster a facelift. The company has been hinting at this forthcoming facelift for a while now and since then a number of leaked images of the new model have surfaced online. Morris Garages India will be taking the covers off of the new 2023 Gloster today.
Recently the company on its social media channels shared a snippet of the new and improved “Advanced Gloster”. The company shared, “The hallmark of luxury. The host to cutting edge tech. The #AdvancedGloster is coming to dominate your city. Stay Tuned! #ExploreMore”
According to the recent spy shots that made their way to the internet, the 2022 MG Gloster SUV will receive a few minor design updates. The list of these upcoming changes in the model will include a set of new 19-inch alloy wheels, updated LED taillights, updated LED headlights, a slightly modified radiator grille, and a front bumper. However, in the rear, the tailgate and the bumper, will not be undergoing any change and will mostly remain the same as the outgoing model.

Moving on to interior upgrades, “i-Smart 2.0” will provide the 2023 Gloster with 75 connected car features. The new model will include a number of connected car capabilities, including the Park+ app, live weather updates, Hinglish voice commands, remote controls for the AC, interior lighting, and audio. Additionally, Android watches will now be supported by the i-Smart software.
Other features that will be included in the new Gloster will be a 12.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker sound system, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with heating, ventilation, massage, and memory functions, a 360-degree camera, 3-zone climate control, cruise control, traction control, six airbags, etc.
As for the powertrain side of things, the new model will most likely retain the same diesel engines that are currently offered in the outgoing model. As of now, the SUV comes with a single turbo diesel mill that produces 161 hp and 375 nm of torque and a twin-turbo unit that produces 215 hp and 480 nm. The latter has a 4WD system that can shift on the fly. Meanwhile, both of the engines come mated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
In other MG news, the company is also planning to launch a facelifted version of its hugely popular SUV Hector, and it recently published a new teaser video of the next-generation Hector. The latest teaser film showed what the front end of the next-generation Hector might look like. The future model, like the current generation Hector, will feature a very aggressive and premium-looking front. The video shows a broad argyle-inspired diamond mesh Grille that gives the next-gen Hector a bold, commanding, and powerful attitude. MG plans to release the next-generation Hector before the end of 2022.
The teaser also featured the Hector SUV in Deep Red, which appears to be a new colour option for the SUV. This SUV’s interior as well as its appearance will also undergo renovation. MG previously unveiled a picture of a new touchscreen infotainment system that will be available with the next Hector.
