Mahindra Scorpio-N & Toyota Fortuner GR Sport compared on video

Mahindra recently announced the price for their automatic variants and the 4×4 version. The price for Scorpio N starts at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 23.90 lakh, ex-showroom for Z8 L diesel automatic 4×4. One of the SUVs that many have been comparing Scorpio N with is the Toyota Fortuner. The Fortuner is a segment above and it is more expensive too. The price for Fortuner starts at R 37.40 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 49.57 lakh, ex-showroom for the GR-Sport variant. Here we have a video where the top-end diesel automatic version of Scorpio N and Toyota Fortuner GR-Sport is compared.

The video has been uploaded by Indian Car Guruji on their YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger compares exterior, interior and features of both the SUVs. Starting with the exterior, both Scorpio N and Toyota Fortuner GR-S have LED headlamps. Scorpio N gets a muscular looking front design while the Fortuner has a premium and sporty look. The front grille on Scorpio N looks imposing and both SUVs have LED DRLs and fog lamps integrated on the bumper. It also gets front parking sensors but only Scorpio N has front camera.

The Fortuner GR-S version gets an all-black alloy wheel. The design of the wheels are the same as the regular Fortuner. The Scorpio N gets a dual-tone alloy wheel which goes well with the overall look of the car. Both SUVs have a lower window chrome line. In Fortuner the chrome line runs across the rear windshield as well. As we move to the rear, vlogger felt that both Scorpio N and Fortuner have good looking tail lamps but, the unit on Fortuner looks slightly more modern.

Vlogger then opens the tail gate and tells that Fortuner gets electric tailgate while the Scorpio N does not. Fortuner also offers more boot space and the third row seats have 50:50 split feature as well. In Scorpio N, the third row is bench seat. Scorpio N offers less space for occupants in the third row and the second row seats get tumble down option, only on one side when compared to Fortuner. Scorpio N is also missing on AC vents in third row. Both Mahindra and Toyota are offering good legroom in second row and there are dedicated AC vents and USB charging ports for rear seat passengers.

As we move to the first row, Mahindra offers a much more modern and premium looking cabin. The cabin layout on Fortuner might look slightly outdated when compared to Scorpio N. Mahindra is offering a more modern infotainment system with 70+ connected car features. The Fortuner gets a bigger touchscreen with basic connected car features, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The instrument cluster on Fortuner looks more premium while Scorpio N shows more information. Both SUVs offer dual-zone climate control but only Scorpio N has an electric sunroof. Fortuner has electrically adjustable seats at the front while Scorpio N has electrically adjustable driver seat only. Fortuner GR-S gets all-black leather and suede upholstery while Scorpio N comes with brown and black dual-tone interiors.
