Jawa 42 Bobber motorcycle launched at Rs 2.06 lakh

Jawa motorcycles made a comeback in the Indian market with three new motorcycles back in 2018. One of the motorcycle which was showcased at the launch was Jawa Perak. It grabbed attention of the public because of its design. It was India’s most affordable factory custom bobber motorcycle. The Perak was only launched in the market in 2019. Jawa motorcycles have once again come with another Factory Custom motorcycle for Indian market and this time around, it is Jawa 42 Bobber. Jawa has launched the 42 Bobber motorcycle at a starting price of Rs 2.06 lakh, ex-showroom.

Taking the wraps off the new motorcycle, Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO – Classic Legends said, “The new 42 Bobber is an amalgamation of success stories for us. The Jawa 42 was our quirky take on a modern retro motorcycle that clicked so well amongst youngsters that it became one of our highest selling models. With the Perak, we created an all new ‘Factory Custom’ segment in the country and its popularity and fan following is not hidden from anyone. The new 42 Bobber combines the best of both worlds blending the performance & individuality of a bobber with the youthfulness & vibrancy of the 42. With this, we aim to cater to a wider set of riders seeking a custom motorcycle that is distinctive, stylish and upbeat.”

Jawa 42 Bobber is aimed at taking the factory custom culture in India to the next level. The Jawa 42 Bobber motorcycle will reach the dealerships soon and the test drive and the deliveries for the same would start early next week. unlike Jawa Perak, the new Jawa 42 Bobber is available in three glossy colours. Mystic Copper, Moonstone white and a dual tone Jasper Red.  Jawa Perak was available online in matte black with golden pinstripes on it.

In terms of design, the motorcycle looks different from the regular Jawa 42 motorcycle. The Jawa 42 as we all-know was a modern iteration of the classic version of the motorcycle. The motorcycle gets a smaller headlamp set up than regular 42. The instrument cluster is also different and is a suspended single pod unit. The handle bar is slightly different and there are bar-end mirrors to complete the look. The turn indicators are smaller units and the front forks and the steel rims and spokes are all finished in black.

There is no use of chrome on any of the parts except the engine. The fuel tank on this motorcycle has been slightly redesigned and there is a 42 Bobber branding on the side cover. The minimalist bodywork, chopped fenders, low single seat and fat tyres helps it in justifying the bobber look. The motorcycle is powered by a 334cc engine that produces 30.64PS of power and 32.74Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed transmission. The motorcycle gets disc brakes both at the front and rear and comes with a dual-channel ABS set up as standard. The price for the Jawa 42 motorcycle goes up depending on the colour you choose. The Mystic Copper is priced at Rs 2.06 lakh, The Moonstone White is priced at Rs 2.07 lakh and the Jasper Red (dual tone) is priced at Rs 2.09 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
