Tata Tiago EV: New video brochure released

Tata Motors strengthened its presence in the electric vehicle segment with their all-new electric hatchback Tiago EV. This is the third electric vehicle from Tata and it is also the most affordable EV from the brand. The starting price for Tiago EV is Rs 8.49 lakh, ex-showroom. This is just an introductory pricing and the first 10,000 customers can buy the car at this price. After the launch, Tata has now released a new video for the Tiago EV hatchback showing all the features and changes that differentiate it from the regular Tiago.

The video has been shared by Tata Motors on their YouTube channel. In this video, Tata Motors show the features that are offered with the new Tiago EV along with some of the changes. At first, the Tiago EV may look like the regular ICE version but, there are some changes to it. Starting with the front, the grille is completely closed and gets a gloss black panel like we saw in Nexon EV and Tigor EV. The grille gets EV logo on it and there are electric blue highlights that is usually seen on Tata EVs.

The car comes with many features that are not there in the petrol version. For example, the Tiago EV comes with iTPMS, multi-mode regen, cruise control, rotary gear knob and so on. The overall design of the car remains the same as before however, there are changes like blue inserts and EV badging at places that reveal its identity. Tata Motors is offering Tiago EV in 7 variants. The car is available with two battery pack options. There are 5 variants that get 24 kWh battery pack and 2 of them get 19.2 kWh battery. Although, Tata has announced the official prices for Tiago EV, the booking and deliveries have not started yet.

The booking would only start on 10th October 2022 and the deliveries would commence in January next year. Like other Tata EVs, Tiago EV is also powered by their Ziptron technology. As mentioned above, there are two different battery packs on offer and depending on the battery pack, the driving range also changes. The 24 kWh battery pack version of Tata Tiago EV has a certified driving range of 315 km. In real world conditions, we can expect it to return around 250-260 km range. The 19.2 kWh battery pack version of the Tiago EV has a certified driving range of 250 km. This would translate into a real world range of 200 km.

Like rest of the Tata EVs, Tiago EV is also getting multiple charging options. There is a 15A compact travelling charger, a 3.3 kW AC charger, 7.2 kW AC home charger and DC fast charger that can charge the batttery from 10-80 percent in just 57 mins. The 7.2 kW AC home charger would take arund 4 hours to charge the car completely from zero. Tata Tiago is available in XE, XT, XZ+, XZ+ Tech Lux variants. The price for Tiago EV starts at Rs 8.49 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 11.79 lakh, ex-showroom for the top-end variant. As of now, Tata has not revealed how much the prices would incerease after the introductory price offers come to an end.
