Amidst the rising competition within its stable from the likes of Alto K10, WagonR and Celerio, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has received a new limited-edition variant. Named the ‘Xtra’ edition, this limited-run variant of the S-Presso gets a range of exterior and interior add-ons, all of which are a part of the dealer-level styling kit. The new Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Xtra has been announced on the carmaker’s social media platforms and is priced between Rs 4.25 lakh to Rs 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The exterior and interior styling elements, which are a part of the overall package of Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, are dealer-level fitments. While Maruti Suzuki hasn’t unveiled on which existing variant this Xtra edition is based, going by the release of the official picture, it is expected that it will be based on the top-spec VXI+ variant. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to announce the pricing of the S-Presso Xtra in the coming days.
On the outside, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Xtra edition comes with add-ons like a front skid plate, door cladding and wheel arch cladding, all of which make the SUV-inspired hatchback even more rugged to look at. The interior of the S-Presso Xtra also gets a range of add-ons like contrast red-coloured inserts on the door panels and the circular centre console. The S-Presso Xtra also gets red-themed floor mats featuring ‘Xtra’ branding.

Apart from these limited add-ons, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Xtra remains essentially the same as the VXI+ variant of the hatchback – at least what the official images released by Maruti Suzuki indicate. The S-Presso Xtra features wheel caps for the 14-inch steel wheels, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, all four power windows and a 7-inch Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a centrally-placed digital instrument console and a basic set of safety features, including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and reverse parking sensors.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is currently available with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder K10C Dualjet petrol engine, which claims 66 PS of maximum power and 90 Nm of maximum torque. The S-Presso Xtra edition will retain this engine with both the transmission options of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. However, it will be interesting to see if the S-Presso Xtra will be offered with the CNG powertrain option or not. In the CNG version, the S-Presso claims 57 PS of maximum power and 82 Nm of maximum torque and is solely available with a 5-speed manual transmission.
