Honda City facelift with ADAS reaches dealership ahead of official launch [Video]

Honda City is one of the most popular mid-size sedan in its segment. It competes with cars like Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus and Maruti Ciaz in the segment. City is Honda’s most popular offering in the Indian market and the manufacturer was working on a facelift for the sedan lately. Few pictures and other details regarding the upcoming car had leaked online. The sedan will be officially launched in March but here we have a detailed walkaround video of the upcoming Honda City facelift sedan. The video shows how the upcoming sedan is different from the current version.

The video has been uploaded by KAMAL YADAV on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger shows all the changes and updates available with the Honda City sedan. Starting with the exterior, the front grille and the bumper has been revised. It looks slightly more sporty than the current version. The front and rear bumper of the sedan gets carbon fibre finish to add the sporty look. The car continues to offer all LED headlamps, LED foglamps, 16 inch alloy wheels, LED tail lamps are other features.

One of the main feature that is now included in the City facelift is the ADAS or Honda Sensing as they like to call. Honda had offered this feature earlier with the strong hybrid version of the sedan. Honda does call it an autonomous driving system but it is more of a driver assistance system. It is a camera-based system and does not have a radar on the front bumper like many other car in the market. The camera is placed on the front windshield. This along with sensors work together to reduce accidents.

Once the vlogger is done with the exterior, he moves inside the car. The cabin layout and the theme remains the same as before. The seats are wrapped in light colored leather. The driver seats are not electrically adjustable. The major update here is the steering wheel. Along with cruise control, it now offers lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control features. The forward collision warning and AEB system are also offered with the car now. Honda City will be the first car in the Indian market to offer these features with a manual transmission.

The vlogger mentions that the car is available with petrol and diesel engine option but it is not true. The upcoming Honda City will be offered with petrol engine only. It is because of the upcoming RDE norms. The car is available with a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 121 Ps and 145 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered with both manual and a CVT gearbox. The Strong Hybrid version will be sold alongside the petrol variant. Other than this, the car would continue to offer features like automatic climate control, electric sunroof, leather seat coves, digital instrument cluster an so on. Honda is also offering wireless phone charging with the Honda City facelift.

We had already reported that Honda will be offering the new City sedan in 9 variants. The price of the Honda City base variant is likely to go down as they will be discontinuing the 4h gen City from the line-up. The sedan is expected to displayed at the dealerships across India from March 2, 2023.
