2023 Tata Nexon Facelift: What it’ll look like [Video]

The sub-compact SUV Nexon from Tata Motors is one of the most popular models in the company’s lineup. Ever since its launch, it has been a hot commodity and even surpassed the all-time champion Maruti Suzuki Brezza to become the best-selling sub-compact SUV. However, despite its success, it cannot be ignored that the model is due for a facelift, and spy shots of the car have surfaced online. Recently, a digital artist on social media created an imagined version of the forthcoming Nexon facelift based on the spy shots.

The video of the Nexon facelift renderings has been uploaded on YouTube by Bagrwala Designs on their channel. The video starts off with a side profile of the sub-compact SUV, which looks pretty much identical to the outgoing car. It then shows the front of the SUV where the biggest change can be noted. We can observe that the front fascia of the facelifted Nexon in the render boasts a split LED headlight design, bringing it in line with the design of all the other SUVs from the brand.

From the render, we can note that the front fascia will get the similar distinct design in which, instead of the headlights, there will be LED DRLs. At the place of traditional fog lamps, there will be the LED headlight setup. There will also be a chunky front grille with small air inlets. Additionally, we can spot that the front bumper will boast a complete redesign and will also get the tri-arrow elements used in Tata cars. At the lower part of the bumper, a faux skid plate can also be seen.

Apart from the front fascia, the rear profile of the car looks mostly the same as the outgoing model. However, recent spy shots suggest that it will be slightly different. It is believed that the rear of the car could get a connecting strip between the LED taillamps of both ends, which was apparent by the raised boot lip below the rear windshield in the spy shots.

As for the interior, the video does not show anything, but it is anticipated that the SUV will get a thoroughly revised cabin with new features like a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, recently seen on the updated Harrier and Safari. Other possible inclusions in the cabin include a new TFT instrument console and ADAS features in top-spec variants.

Meanwhile, for the drivetrain, a conversation with an engineer testing the prototype of the updated Nexon revealed that the new version will come with a dual-clutch automatic transmission-equipped version. The new 6-speed DCT is the same unit currently offered in the Altroz automatic and will replace the slower 6-speed AMT from the current model. Additionally, another possible significant update that will make its way into the updated Tata Nexon is a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, previewed at the Auto Expo 2023. The new engine claims a maximum power output of 125 bhp and 225 Nm, which is 5 bhp and 55 Nm more than the current engine’s claimed performance numbers.
