India’s first Kia Carens X-Line variant is here [Video]

There has been a culture of converting base variant cars to top variant ones for a long time in India. Here is an instance where a base variant of Kia Carens has been converted to the special edition X-Line variant. These are the changes.

The video by VIG Auto Accessories reveals all the changes in the Carens in this video. This is the base Premium variant. To start with, the vehicle gets 16-inch alloy wheels of the X-Line variant. It costs Rs 11,500 per alloy as per the video. The car also gets a dual-tone shade. The roof gets an all-black shade while the body gets a white shade. It also gets high-gloss Paint Protection Film or PPF from Garware.

There are footsteps from Genesis. All the glasses get an anti-UV tint that ensures that the cabin remains cool even when the car is parked under the sun. The ORVMs get a gloss-black finish.

Even the cabin gets a slew of changes. The seats get perforated leatherette with the lightning pattern. It is finished in white and walnut shade and looks quite good. The pillars get leather wrap and even the door trims get a leather finish.

The ORVMs get a one-touch open and close function. The infotainment system is from Onkyo. It is a 10.25-inch screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The components are Sony ES Series.

This car also gets a cruise control system. It is a fully functional cruise control system and works like the OEM system. The headlamps are from Osram and these are much brighter than the OEM as well.

These customizations have been done by the owner through an aftermarket agency, which is generally not recommended by car manufacturers as it voids the standard vehicle warranty. However, in their desire to give their vehicles a unique appearance, car owners often turn to aftermarket modification shops, sacrificing the warranties provided with their vehicles.

Kia Carens

The Kia Carens made its debut in the Indian market in February 2022 with an introductory price of Rs 8.99 lakh. However, in April 2022, the prices of the entire Kia Carens lineup were revised, resulting in significant price hikes of up to Rs 70,000 for certain variants. The Kia Carens is available in India with three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated 115 PS petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbocharged 140 PS petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre 115 PS diesel engine.

The Kia Carens boasts a wide range of features, including 64-colour ambient lighting, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an air purifier, the Kia Connect telematics system, a single-pane sunroof, and roof-mounted AC vents for the second and third rows. When it comes to safety, Kia has made a strong impression by offering six airbags, electronic stability control, hill descent control, hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and all-wheel disc brakes as standard.
