MG Gloster Blackstorm edition launched in India: Price starts at Rs 40.29 lakh

After several teaser images and videos, MG Motor India has officially launched the Blackstorm edition of their flagship SUV, the Gloster, in the Indian market. The price for the MG Gloster Blackstorm edition starts at Rs 40.29 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 43.07 lakh, ex-showroom. Lately, we have been seeing several manufacturers introducing the color black into their existing models and naming them as a particular edition. The MG Gloster Blackstorm edition is also similar. As the name suggests, MG is offering the Gloster SUV in an all-black paint job with minor cosmetic changes both on the outside and inside. MG states that this exclusive special edition comes in an elegant and deep black hue, adding a clear touch of distinction to the vehicle.

After the official launch, MG also released a video that shows the changes that differentiate the Blackstorm edition from the regular Gloster. The Advanced Gloster Blackstorm captivates with its dynamic aesthetics, featuring bold sporty elements and striking red accents on the bodywork. The iconic 2WD & 4WD, New Gloster, and Internet Inside emblems are highlighted by the Metal Black and Metal Ash colors. The Dark Theme is further enhanced by the roof rail, smoked black taillight, window surround, fender, and fog garnish, resulting in an overall commanding presence for MG’s flagship SUV. The ORVMs and headlamps get red accents, which give it a sporty look. The brake calipers on this SUV have also been painted red for an aggressive look. The faux skid plate on both the front and rear gets a gloss black finish with red accents. The chrome has been completely eliminated from the vehicle. The front grille has also been slightly redesigned.

As the car carries a black theme, the alloy wheels on the Gloster Blackstorm have also been blacked out. Just like the exterior, the interior of the Blackstorm edition Gloster has been customized. The interior also carries a black theme. The seats and dashboard are all finished in black and red. The backlight on the buttons on the steering wheel is red. Similarly, the stitching on the leather seats and steering wheel is also red. There are illuminated scuff plates, leather pads on the door, a 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat with a massager function, 64-color ambient lights, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and so on.

The MG Gloster is a feature-loaded SUV and it comes with Level 1 ADAS features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Automatic Parking Assist, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Door Open Warning (DOW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Change Assist (LCA), and Driver Fatigue Reminder System. The MG Gloster Blackstorm is available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine and a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine. The single-turbo version generates 161 Bhp and 375 Nm of peak torque, which is available for the 2WD version. The twin-turbo engine for the 4×4 version generates 215 Bhp and 480 Nm of peak torque. Both these engine options are available with an 8-speed automatic transmission only. It is available with both 6 and 7 seater options.
