Honda has finally unveiled the much-awaited Elevate in the Indian. This is the first time that the mid-size SUV has been unveiled globally. Honda Elevate will be the first-ever mid-size SUV from the Japanese automobile giant and it will take on cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the likes. Honda will start accepting the bookings for the new Elevate in July and the launch will happen sometime during the festive season.
The new Honda Elevate is based on the same platform as the Honda City. Honda says that the brand will bring a battery-powered Elevate in the next three years. Currently, Honda only sells sedans in the Indian market.

Coming to the new car, the Elevate looks like a typical Honda product. It gets the signature Honda thick bar grille that extends to become the sleek headlamps. The rear gets a sleek tail lamps units as well. The Elevate is 4.2 metres long, 1.65 metres tall and 1.79 m wide. It comes with a ground clearance of 220mm, which is quite good for the Indian roads.
Inside, the new Honda Elevate will come features like a 10.25-inchtouchscreen infotainment system. The HD colour TFT for driver is of 7-inch. The car also comes with wireless smartphone integration. Honda will also offer Honda Sensing ADAS features include autonomous braking, adaptive cruise control and more. The car will get active safety features like Lane Watch, Hill Climb Assist, Lane Keep Assist and others.
The Elevate will be able to connected to Alexa and will offer connectivity options to Apple Watch and Android Watch.
Engine options not officially announced
The new Elevate will officially come with only one engine option at the moment. It will get a 1.5-liter petrol engine, delivering 121 PS and 150 Nm of torque. This engine is currently used in the Honda City mid-size sedan. It is possible that Honda will make adjustments to the power characteristics to better suit the SUV’s form factor.
As for transmission options, they are expected to be similar to those available in the Honda City, offering a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox, depending on the variant. Honda may also introduce hybrid variants of the Elevate in future. The company has already confirmed its plans to introduce an all-electric powertrain for the Elevate within the next three years.
