Maruti Suzuki Invicto MPV official bookings to open later this week

Maruti Suzuki has officially announced that it will commence bookings for its new premium MPV starting from June 19th. The MPV, expected to be named Maruti Suzuki Invicto (previously rumored as Engage), is set to be launched on July 5th, as confirmed by Maruti Suzuki on their official social media platforms.

Positioned above the XL6 and Grand Vitara, the new Invicto will serve as Maruti Suzuki’s flagship offering in the country. While being a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, the Invicto will be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s NEXA chain of outlets. Interestingly, it will be manufactured on the same assembly line in Bidadi, Karnataka, where the Innova Hycross is produced, with Toyota supplying the Invicto to Maruti Suzuki from its manufacturing facility.

Sharing Toyota’s TNGA-C platform and featuring similar styling inside-out to the Innova Hycross, the Invicto has already been spotted in the open. Its front fascia showcases a revised design with a distinct chrome-finished grille, aligning with other Maruti Suzuki offerings such as the XL6 and Grand Vitara.

Presently, the Toyota Innova Hycross is available with two powertrain options: a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 2.0-liter petrol-electric strong-hybrid engine. Although the availability of the naturally-aspirated petrol engine for the Invicto is yet to be confirmed, it is highly likely that the upcoming MPV will feature the strong-hybrid powertrain, with both seven and eight seating configurations.

Expected price of Maruti Suzuki Invicto

Given its sourcing from Toyota, similar to the strong-hybrid variants of the Grand Vitara, the new Maruti Suzuki Invicto is expected to be priced at a premium compared to the Innova Hycross. Currently, the Innova Hycross is priced between Rs 18.55 lakh and Rs 19.45 lakh for the naturally-aspirated petrol engine variants, and Rs 25.03 lakh to Rs 29.99 lakh for the strong-hybrid variants. The pricing of the Invicto will surpass these figures.

The Invicto will also share its 2.0-liter strong-hybrid powertrain with the Innova Hycross. This powertrain combines a 2.0-liter petrol engine with an electric motor, delivering a maximum power output of 183 bhp and paired with an e-CVT. Additionally, the Invicto will feature similar specifications to the Innova Hycross, including all-LED headlamps and tail lamps, machined alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone auto AC, full-TFT instrument console, powered driver’s seat, and more.
