Rags-to-riches stories inspire us all, and there are numerous such tales out there. One of these stories belongs to Ravi Pillai, a 69-year-old man who hails from a family of farmers. Ravi Pillai is the founder of the RP Group, which operates businesses across various parts of India and the Middle East. Last year, he made headlines for purchasing a helicopter worth approximately Rs 100 crore, becoming the first Indian to own one. Additionally, he owns a collection of expensive cars in his garage.
Airbus H145
The helicopter in question is an Airbus H145. Ravi Pillai took delivery of his brand new helicopter in Kovalam, Kerala, in June last year. After the delivery, the helicopter’s maiden flight was from Kovalam to Raviz Ashtamudi with Ravi Pillai onboard. Mr. Pillai owns the Raviz resort, which spans several parts of the state. The Airbus H145 is a four-blade compact helicopter that can accommodate two pilots and seven passengers. It is powered by two Safran HE Ariel 2C2 turboshaft engines, delivering 785 kW of power. The helicopter can travel at a speed of about 246 kmph and can operate at heights of up to 20,000 feet above sea level. Ravi Pillai was the first Indian to own this particular model of the helicopter. Airbus is manufacturing only 1,500 units of the H145 worldwide. Apart from Ravi Pillai, M.A. Yusuff Ali, the owner of Lulu group, also owns the same helicopter.

Rolls-Royce Ghost
The Rolls-Royce Ghost, purchased by him in 2011, remains his vehicle of choice to this day. Despite being 12 years old, this sedan boasts all the modern features and continues to be one of the most well-equipped vehicles available in the market. The Ghost is stored at his residence in Kollam, Kerala, and he frequently utilizes it for work-related transportation.
Mercedes-Maybach S600
The Mercedes-Maybach stands as one of the most luxurious vehicles on the market. Ravi Pillai holds the distinction of being the first person in the southern region of the country to receive a Mercedes-Maybach S600. Apart from his Rolls-Royce, he regularly utilizes this car as well. The Maybach S600 represents the pinnacle of the model, offering an array of lavish and cutting-edge features. These include a state-of-the-art infotainment system, ambient lighting, seat massagers, an integrated perfume system, a panoramic sunroof, and a comprehensive list of other amenities. Powering it is a formidable 6.0-liter V12 petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 530 Bhp and a peak torque of 800 Nm. The current generation of the S-Class Maybach is available in S580 and S680 trims.
BMW 5 Series
Compared to the other vehicles in his collection, the BMW 5 Series exudes a sense of modesty. Ravi Pillai’s chosen variant of the 5 Series is the 520d, which happens to be the top-selling version of the car in the market. This mid-size sedan boasts an impressive array of features and is frequently favored by executives who prefer the comfort of being chauffeured around.
Audi A6 Matrix
During his daughter’s wedding ceremony in 2015, Ravi Pillai organized a fleet of exotic vehicles, which included the newly launched Audi A6 Matrix. Mercedes-Maybach S500
