The excitement surrounding the much-awaited Tata Nexon facelift has reached a fever pitch as buyers and industry experts eagerly await its official launch. Recently, the upcoming Nexon sub-compact SUV was once again spotted undergoing testing, and this time, the test mule revealed its production-ready LED headlights, hinting at the imminent arrival of the revamped sub-4m SUV. The Nexon which is one of the most popular sub-compact SUVs in the country has been spotted testing on multiple occasions in the country so far.
In the latest spy images, the heavily camouflaged Tata Nexon facelift was caught testing on the roads of Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, indicating that Tata Motors is in the advanced stages of development. This sighting comes after a previous spotting at the challenging Khardung La mountain pass in the Leh district of Ladakh, showcasing the SUV’s capability in diverse terrains. The most exciting revelation from the recent sighting was the glimpse of the Nexon’s updated front end, featuring brand new LED headlights (likely projectors) integrated into the bumper, along with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) adding to the SUV’s distinctive and dynamic appeal.

Building on the success of its predecessor, the facelifted Tata Nexon boasts a sharper and more aggressive design language. Taking inspiration from the Tata Curvv coupe SUV showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, the new Nexon features the brand’s signature split LED headlights and DRL design up front, giving it an unmistakable road presence.
The front bumper has also been revised to complement the new grille setup, further enhancing its aesthetics. On the sides, minimal changes are expected, except for a fresh design for the alloy wheels, adding a touch of elegance to the profile. At the rear, the Nexon facelift will flaunt sleeker LED taillamps connected by a striking LED strip, exuding a sportier and contemporary appeal, while the revised bumper adds to the overall dynamic stance.
Inside the cabin of the facelifted Nexon, the company has completely revamped the interior of this highly popular SUV. A brand-new dashboard layout will welcome occupants, along with a fresh upholstery color, elevating the overall ambiance of the interior. The highlight of the updated cabin will undoubtedly be the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, previously seen in the upgraded Harrier and Safari models. In addition, the facelifted Nexon is likely to offer a new TFT instrument console and advanced driver-assistance features (ADAS) in top-spec models. The steering wheel design takes cues from the Tata Curvv, featuring a striking dual-spoke pattern, adding a touch of sportiness to the driver’s cockpit.
The upcoming Tata Nexon facelift is expected to offer improved powertrain options to cater to different preferences. While concrete details about the drivetrain are yet to be revealed, speculations suggest that Tata may introduce a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This powerful engine, showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, is expected to deliver a maximum power output of 125 bhp and 225 Nm of torque, surpassing the performance figures of the current engine.
Alongside a 6-speed manual transmission, the new petrol engine might also be paired with a 6-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), providing a smooth and responsive driving experience. Additionally, the existing 1.5-liter 110 hp diesel engine is expected to continue, offering a reliable and fuel-efficient option for diesel enthusiasts.
While the exact launch date of the Tata Nexon facelift remains under wraps, industry insiders speculate that the sub-4m SUV could hit the showrooms in late this year or early 2024. The highly anticipated launch is expected to breathe new life into the fiercely competitive sub-compact SUV segment in India, where the Nexon will rekindle its rivalry with popular contenders like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
