Brand-new 2023 Gen-3 KTM Duke 390 suffers engine seizure at just 90 kilometers [Video]

Buying a brand new bike or car is often a dream for many. Many people are actually saving to buy their dream vehicle. When buying a new vehicle, we consider a lot of factors like the dealership, service network, and also the price. People are extremely careful while buying a new vehicle; however, even then, there are times when their experience gets ruined because of issues. Here we have a video from a vlogger who encountered a major issue in his brand new 2023 Gen-3 KTM Duke 390. The engine on the bike started making a rattling noise just after covering 90 kms after buying the motorcycle.

The video has been uploaded by Explore n More on his YouTube channel. The vlogger has posted the whole incident in three parts. In the first part, he talks about when he encountered the issue, and then he shows how the service center staff handled this problem.

The video starts when the vlogger begins his ride on the Taj Expressway from his home. He was accompanied by his friend on this trip. He starts riding from Delhi to Noida, and just before joining the Taj Expressway, the vlogger stopped the bike as he started hearing noise from the engine.

He was initially not sure about where the noise was coming from. He started riding carefully, and once he started riding, the noise kept getting louder. They finally reached the spot, and upon inspection, he noticed that the engine oil was bubbling, and the noise was coming from the engine only. Soon he came across another issue. He was unable to upshift or downshift. He was forced to ride the bike in a single gear.

The motorcycle comes with a quickshifter. He tried turning that off, and even that did not resolve the issue. This happened early in the morning, so they could not do much. They slowly rode back, and in between, the rider faced the same issue several times. The noise was too evident while riding. Even other fellow riders asked him to leave the bike, as it did not seem very safe to ride.

The rider somehow reached home and took the bike to the service center. He mentioned that he noticed this sound just before the bike completed 100 kms. After reaching the service center, the staff told him that they wanted to inspect the engine and clutch plate to determine the issue. The owner gave permission to inspect the clutch plate; however, he refused to open the engine as it is a brand new motorcycle that has not even completed 100 kms.

The vlogger claims in the video that the dealership sold him a defective motorcycle and did not let him inspect the bike before taking the delivery. The staff even asked him not to post the video online and promised to replace the parts or the engine on the motorcycle. He did not agree to the terms, and even the owner of the dealership had the same story to tell. Even the police were called to the dealership, and they were on the customer’s side.

The customer asked them to take the bike back and return the money. The dealership refused to do that because he said he cannot buy back a motorcycle that has been registered. The vlogger mentions in the video that the dealership sold him a used bike but has not provided any proof regarding the same. He even said that the service center staff misbehaved with them over this issue.
