Tata is all set to launch the highly anticipated Altroz Racer, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. This edition is scheduled to hit the market next month, offering an exciting choice for performance enthusiasts. Let’s talk about the details of this upcoming hot hatch.
Launch Details:
According to reports, Altroz Racer will hit the Indian market in the second week of April. Pricing is estimated to fall between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 14 lakh, positioning it to directly compete with the Hyundai i20 N Line, the only performance-oriented hatchback in this segment. Altroz Racer is expected to fill the void left by the iconic Volkswagen Polo. With this hatchback, Tata Motors aims to target people looking for a fun-to-drive and sporty car in the budget segment.
Tata Altroz Racer – Design:
The Altroz Racer retains the familiar silhouette of the standard variant but receives notable enhancements for a sportier appearance. It comes with changes such as the black bonnet with white racing stripes, blacked-out alloy wheels, and an extended spoiler contribute to its bold and aggressive look. These changes give the car a more sporty appeal.
Specifications:
The highlight of the Altroz Racer lies under the hood, where it boasts a potent 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine borrowed from the larger Nexon. With an output of 118 Bhp and 172 Nm of torque, this engine promises an exhilarating driving experience.
Enthusiasts will particularly appreciate the manual gearbox, indicating Tata’s focus on delivering an engaging driving performance. Apart from the new engine option, the Altroz Racer is also expected to offer a sports oriented suspension setup and re-tuned steering dynamics for a better handling. An upgraded braking setup is also expected.
Tata Altroz Racer – Interior & Features:
Tata has infused a sporty ambience inside the cabin with an all-black theme accentuated by red highlights. Design elements such as white and orange stripes on the seats and orange accents around the AC vents add to the dynamic appeal.
Expect the Altroz Racer to come equipped with a host of features, including a 10-inch floating infotainment system, ventilated front seats, six airbags, wireless charging, and an updated instrument cluster. Additionally, it will retain key features of the standard Altroz, such as a 90-degree door opening, sunroof, and Harman sound system.
Safety
The Tata Altroz prioritizes passenger safety, and the Racer variant will be no different. The regular Altroz achieved a 5-star Global NCAP rating. Standard safety features include dual airbags for the front occupants, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) for better control during emergency braking, and reverse parking sensors to aid in maneuvering during tight parking situations.
As Tata gears up to launch the Altroz Racer, anticipation is high among automotive enthusiasts eagerly awaiting its arrival. With its dynamic design, powerful engine, and enhanced features, the Altroz Racer aims to set new standards in the hatchback segment. It would be interesting to see if Tata Motors launches similar versions of their other cars, such as the Nexon, to compete with Venue N Line and Harrier to compete with Creta N Line.
