Toyota Glanza: Specifications, variants revealed before official launch

The upcoming Toyota Glanza will be soon launched in the Indian market on 6th June. Before that, the dealerships will start accepting the bookings for the upcoming rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Toyota has already started dispatching the Glanza across the dealership network in India and all the details about the car have been revealed too.

ACI has revealed all the features of the upcoming Glanza. It will be offered in two trim levels – G and V. Both the trim levels will only get petrol engine options. There will be a 1.2-litre regular petrol VVT engine that produces a maximum of 83 PS of maximum power. This will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options. There will be a higher powered 1.2-litre DualJet Smart Hybrid engine too, which produces a maximum of 90 PS and gets only a manual transmission. Here are the feature details of the G and the V trim of the upcoming Glanza.

Engine and transmission available: 1.2-litre smart hybrid with manual – 90 PS, 1.2-litre VVT with automatic and manual – 83 PS

The Toyota Glanza G variant will be the base variant of the car but will come equipped with a range of features. It will get standard safety equipment like dual front airbags, ABS + EBD with brake assist, seatbelt reminder, height adjustable seatbelts, speed warning, front fog lamps, rear parking sensors, rear defogger plus wiper, LED projector headlamps, power adjustable and folding ORVMs, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, 7.0-inch infotainment system with Smart Playcast. The infotainment system also gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity along with Aux, USB and Bluetooth. There are four-speakers and 2 tweeters as standard and the infotainment can be controlled through buttons mounted on the steering wheel.

The base variant of the Toyota Glanza will also get central locking system with keyless entry, push-button start/stop, tilt and telescopically adjustable steering wheel, front and rear adjustable headrests, driver seat height adjustable manual, power windows with automatic up/down function at the front, automatic climate control system 60:40rear armrest, front and rear 12V socket and ISOFIX hooks for the child seats.

Engine and transmission available: 1.2-litre VVT 83 PS engine with manual and automatic

The additional features in the V variant over the G are a rear parking camera, automatic LED headlamps, and follow-me-home function. The interior is also a little more plush with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Rest of the features remain the same.

The Glanza will be the first-ever vehicle to be launched from the Suzuki-Toyota partnership in India. The Toyota Glanza will get a standard warranty of 3 years/unlimited kilometres as against the 2year/40,000 km warranty provided by Suzuki for the Baleno. Soon, Toyota and Suzuki will offer more such rebadged vehicles in the market.
